Amazon unveils 3 new versions of Fire tablet with improved battery life

Amazon has recently unveiled three new versions of the Fire tablets, that boast faster performance and have more storage. The new line up of Fire HD includes Fire HD 8 Plus, Fire HD 8 kids and Fire HD 8 and shall be made available online with prices starting at $89.99.

The Fire line of tablets had been launched as Kindle initially, in the year 2011 and was also seen as a rival to the dominance of Apple Inc on the tablet market. The newly launched 8-inch tablets are known to provide longer battery life and also offer access based on subscription to a number of movies, TV shows and ebooks. The Fire HD 8 tablet provides 32GB of storage, about 2GB RAM and 12 hours of battery life. While the Fire HD 8 plus has a better RAM as well as six months of Kindle Unlimited.

The company also has the new Fire HD Kids Edition tablet launched recently and has Amazon FreeTime Unlimited for one year along with access to more than 20,000 books, videos, games, audiobooks, and more educational apps that are mostly kid-friendly.

The Fire HD 8 launched this year is valued at $89.99 while a two-pack bundle is valued at $159.99. the tablet has already been put up for pre-orders at the Amazon US site and the shipping for the same shall start on June 3. The tablet has been made available in Black, Plum, White, and Twilight Blue color options.

Fire HD 8 Plus has extra wireless charging support that takes about 4 hours to get charged fully due to the in-box charger of 9W. It has 3 GB of RAM and is also bundled up with a wireless charging dock, further helping the Fire HD 8 Plus in transforming into a smart display and offering hands-free access to Alexa in Show Mode.
